March 2008 minutes accepted.
HIGHWAY CLEANUP on March 29, 14 volunteers collected 20 bags of trash
WATER TESTING continues at 1:00pm every two weeks; data collected is
sent to Chad Smith at ECU where it is compiled with other area data;
long-term change studied. Current testing’s show good water quality with
salinity changes based on wind direction (East winds produce higher
salinity.)

ALUMINUM RECYCLING running smoothly; one collection can mysteriously
disappeared but has been replaced
OLD BUSINESS:
-Mary Thomson reported on progress of the HOA ad hoc committee on
tree conservation/replacement
-Demonstration Garden rejected by B&G
-8 new Master Gardeners from CL; volunteer opportunity at Farmer’s
Market again this year
Wetland Trail marking scheduled for 4/19/08 at 9:00am (PLEASE
NOTE!!)
-Some flagging already done by Pat and Steve Vore;
-Several bridges need repositioning and/or repairing;
-Orange spray paint to be used to mark
trees along the correct route
-Sign ordered for Choptank end of trail
NEW BUSINESS:
-Bird ID walk planned; contacts being made with Goose Creek Park
-Tree ID tour using Extension Office cart for passengers
planned; arborist Jim Kea to be contacted
NEXT MEETING: May 5th at Kay’s house
