The meeting was called to order by chairperson Mara
Graves at 7 PM in the Washington Room.
In attendance and welcomed were new members Pat Fitzgerald, Catherine
Good and Jeff Gould and returning members Ingrid Butler and Jerry
McGrath. Members absent were Frank Garrod, Marcia Stasch, Barbara
Smith, Rose Fitzgerald and Doug Smith. Board liaison Charlie Moore was
unable to attend due to prior commitment.
Budget for the year 2007 realized $46,417.06 in income and $47,820.96 in
expenses, resulting in a net loss of $1403.90. Budget for the year
2008 is $46,400.
Copies of the BCOC charter were distributed to members and they were
directed to familiarize themselves with the policies/procedures of the
Bay Club and its amenities. The HOA office has additional copies.
Members were advised of their main responsibilities concerning inventory
and operations of the bar and monitoring adherence to the policies and
procedures concerning the Bay Club.
Pat Fitzgerald gave a brief bar report, stating that the lounge gross
profit income runs around 47% of expenses. The goal is 50%.
Old Business: Ingrid Butler expressed gratitude for the
installation of the enhanced lighting in the “library” area.
New Business:
1. Initiated review of policy on decorations
2. Initiated review of alcohol use on HOA property when bar or satellite
bar(s) are not in
operation
3. Considered request from the Art Committee for placement of
informational plaques on
the wall next to existing artwork/photos in the Bay Club.
The request was denied
because the plaques were unreadable from a distance and a
reluctance of the committee
to have more items attached to the walls. The committee
suggested that the Art
Committee design a directory/catalog of these items, which
then can be placed on the
community bulletin board. Additional copies would be
available in the HOA office. A
note to this effect will be sent to Bev Lasher, Art
Committee.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM. Next meeting Wednesday, February
13 at 7 PM.
