Meeting was called to order by Chairman Douglas Smith
at 7:05pm on Oct. 10, 2007. New members to be invited the the
November meeting. Notice of resignation by Bev Lasher.
Old Business: Bar report by Frank Garrod indicated that
profits are ahead for the year and the three bartenders are working
well. A change for the Sunday special is for the 750ml bottles to
be charged at $8:00 in an effort to reduce stock that is not moving.
Wine by the glass will remain at $2 on Sunday as a special and beer on
Wed at $1.00. Bay room: Delay on the removal of the posts in the
room. If done, there will be a need to paint and patch the floor.
The committee wishes to know who is responsible as these is no money
budgeted for such an expense in our budget.
New Business:
Keith Fox, legal information: A letter was received from SESAC a
law firm doing music licensing concerning musical performance in the Bay
Club and resulting fees do the composers etc. of such works.
Keith determined that after researching the issue that the federal court
making such determination did not have jurisdiction in the State of
North Carolina. The agency and their legal counsel was notified by
Keith and no response has been received. No action or payment ot
be made and item was tabled.
An E-mail was received suggesting that a golf cart type of vehicle be
purchased or rented to assist in the transportation of handicapped
residents entering the Bay Club. A short discussion suggested some
problematic issues. However, as the the HOA Board has this item on
their agenda the matter was tabled.
Lighting for the Bay Club, outside walkway, discussion resulted in a
need from buildings and grounds as to the costs and design. Tabled
pending info from B&G.
Discussion was held about two pieces of art in the Washington Room which
the chairman will investigate.
A question about replacement furniture was answered by the fact that it
is not budgeted until 2010,
A new Chairman will be needed for the 2008 year.
Meeting adjourned at 7:45pm. Next scheduled meeting is 11/14/07 at
7pm.
